Tek Consults Group Inc is an IT consulting firm that provides computer technical support to small and medium-size businesses in Chicagoland area. And in 2004 opened up a subsidiary office [Tek Consults Uganda Ltd] in Kampala, Uganda for technical consulting, outsourcing, R&D services as well as renewable Energy and Technology implementation center.

In January 2010, Tek Consults, Inc. was one of 14 winners of the African Diaspora Marketplace (USAID) Business Competition and received a development grant for bringing Cooking Solar technology to Uganda where a Solar Oven factory is going to be built in Kampala, Uganda.

Prior to forming Tek Consults Group Inc i[n 2005], I was a Network Systems Engineer for Specialty Computers and Systems Inc. [from 2002 through 2004], where I was part of business development and new client systems team . I was responsible for the building of the company’s technical team for the Midwest clients. I managed a diverse project portfolio, including market analysis studies and customer satisfaction measurement.

From 2000 through 2002, I worked as a facilities technician for Navteq Inc., as a member of the company’s Tech support team

Previous to this:

 

From 1996 through 1999 I was the Head of the Children AIDS Prevention Programs Department with the Anglican Archdiocese of Uganda, a project with funds from the Norwegian government, UNICEF and the church of Canterbury.

 

From 1992 through 1995 I was the Children Programs Coordinator for the Catholic Archdiocese in Kampala, Uganda. He was responsible for the development of the Children AIDS Prevention Programs and curriculum for schools and communities funded by UNICEF and Churches in Rome and Ireland.

 

I hold various positions, as:

  • Deputy Consular General. Ugandan Consulate for Midwest, U.S.A
  • President and founder, Ugandan American Global Initiatives (not-for-profit organization)
  • Vice President of the Uganda Men’s Forum of the greater Chicagoland Community
I holds bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology from Makerere University, with a Diploma in Leadership Training from Leadership Training Institute, in Nairobi, Kenya. Also a Diploma in Business Administration and Management from  Universal College of Business, Kampala Uganda, Diploma in Computer Engineering, from Professional Career Development Institute, Atlanta GA.

 

I am fluent in several Ugandan languages, as well as Swahili, and I am currently learning French and Spanish.

Today, in addition to my technological work, I focus on my humanitarian interests in the areas of international development and relief. I frequently travel abroad to conduct training sessions on the use of Sun Ovens and the implementation of alternative energy systems.
